2025 Open Pennant Nominations (Report 19/11/24)

Summer Pennant Nomination Sheets are now on the noticeboard outside the office with nominations closing on 10th December.   Please be mindful that if your name is not on the list you will NOT be considered for Pennant Selection.

Mid Week Pennant Wrap Up (Report 19/11/24)

This year Tuggeranong had six sides competing in the BACT Mis Week Pennant competition.   Four in the Ladies and two in the Men’s.   Even though a flag was not forthcoming two teams finished second in their
Grade Ladder.  The Grade 3 Ladies are especially to be congratulated as they finished a very close second to the eventually winners.   Going into the last round they were one point ahead but unfortunately had a BYE. This result is a remarkable achievement considering the number of new and inexperienced bowlers in the team.  The Grade 1 Men also finished a credible second and must be congratulated on finishing just two points behind Yass (and this also went down to the wire).

2024 Xmas Shutdown (Report 19/11/24)

Members are advised that social bowls for 2024 will finish on Friday the 20th December 2024 and resume on Monday the 6th January 2025.   There will be no organised bowls over this period, however if a group wishes to come and play you are more than welcome, keeping in mind that the greens will not be prepared, and nothing will be organised.

International Representation (Report 19/11/24)

Tuggeranong Vikings Chloe Morrison leaves this week to play as part of the Australian team for the 2024 Oceania Challenge being played in New Zealand from November 20-24.    She will be representing in the triples and the fours.   Good Luck Chloe.

Bowls ACT Champion of Club Champion Pairs (Report 19/11/24)

Andrew Ashlin and Shane Murton as well as Chloe Morrison and Marilyn McInnes are through to the finals of the ACT Champion of Champions Pairs.   Weather conditions on Sunday afternoon cancelled the finals which are now to be played on Sunday 8th December at 9:30am.

Bowls ACT Champion of Club Champion Fours (Report 04/11/24)

On the weekend Kaleen McAllay, Marilyn McInnes, Jenny Clout, and Chloe Morrison competed in the women’s CoCC Fours and Greg Beaumont, Nathan Collins, David Sarll and Dave Harris in the Men’s.   Team Harris were bundled out in the first round losing by four shots to the Canberra team lead by Matt Sargent.   The Ladies progressed through to the semi finals,  but unfortunately lost by 1 shot against Yass.

Social Bowls – Change of Starting Times (Report 29/10/24)

From Wednesday 4 December, Wednesday and Friday Socials will start at 10:00 am until further notice.   Tuesday and Thursday Socials has been starting at 10:00am since September and will continue to operate at this time until further notice.

Bowls ACT Champion of Club Champion Triples (Report 27/10/24)

On the weekend Annette Tye, Jenny Clout, and Chloe Morrison competed in the women’s CoCC Triples and Mike Corby, Craig Southwell, and John Beaumont in the Men’s.   Team Beaumont won their first game against Weston Creek, but unfortunately could not make it past the second round after being defeated by RSL in an extra end.   The Ladies had more success making it through to the final, but unfortunately lost by 3 shots.

Club Minor Singles Results (Report 27/10/24)

Congratulations to Sandra King and Nathan Collins on becoming the Club Minor Singles winners for 2024.   Commiserations to runner-ups Maria Smith and Dave Harris.

Our club participates in pennant bowls, conducts internal championship events, holds Sports Days as well as various other tournaments throughout the year.

Barefoot Bowls is popular for Christmas parties, birthdays or even team building sessions.
